This hotel is absolutely amazing. We were greeted by the nicest man (I didn’t catch his name unfortunately) who gave us a very in-depth, clear explanation of how everything works in the hotel and our room. The hotel itself is located right across from a beautiful river and it’s super close to everything you need. The hotel has everything you need. The open air onsen literally took my breath away. I’ve never experienced such peace and serenity. I don’t know if it was because it’s off season (here in June) but I had the whole bath to myself which was amazing. The room!! We loved everything about it. It was a traditional style room so think low tables, futons (which the staff made up for us in the evening), complimentary tea and the most amazing balcony type thing. We really loved everything about our stay and wish we stayed longer than one night. Highly HIGHLY recommend and we’ll definitely be back here.

Our plans for our visit to Hakone and the nearby hot springs noted for the "black eggs", cooked in a sulfur hot springs was set askew by a snow storm/rain. We were therefore very grateful for the onsens (separate men and women) to warm up after, with waters from hot springs. We didn't have the meal plan reservations so I can't speak to the breakfast & dinner. The room was traditional Japanese, tatami mats, futons, low tables, but there were two "regular" chairs. Another rating mentioned issues with the room being cold, but ours had a modern wall ac/heater with remote and I was able to make it comfortable for my normally cold spouse. All in all a good time, just make sure to check out before 11, as that is when the last shuttle to the train station, about 800 m away, not an issue except it was raining. Not the Ryokan's fault, just two slow seniors. No problem.

This is one one of the best stays I had in my 10 days Japan travel. I regret not staying back longer in Hakone and at Senkei. You will try experience Japan both in the form of nature and your surroundings and the people. The room to location this place was a bliss and totally Japanese home i should say. onsen were amazing , we did not have dinner in the hotel we walked out this is the only challenge most of the restaurants would be closed by 7 or 8, so you need to plan well and better. Room was huge and so amazing, it almost transforms you to Edo period in some way. We had a great time.

It was a beautiful, traditional Japanese style room with traditional kasieki dinner. We were provided pretty much everything we needed including a kimono and sandals. We had our own private outdoor onsen bath and we're served high quality,, chef prepared meals directly in our rooms. The location was next to a river and we had wonderful views ofnthe river and mountains. The service was impeccable and the resort was so quiet, we felt we had the whole place to ourselves. The Shein room was spacious too. It was peaceful and relaxing.

Such a cool place to stay. We loved the traditional Japanese room and the onsen. In particular, the outdoor onsen was really amazing. It was great to have a comfy bathrobe, and the owners provided several free beverages, which was very generous. We also loved the warm welcome from the hotel staff and all the explanations. It was really cute and the older lady was so helpful. It was also great that the hotel provided a free shuttle as on our last day it rained a lot.
